The bad news is this vent article is 40 pages.  The good news is it’s easy to understand.  Most students feel uncomfortable with vent/respiratory topics because it is complicated and involves a lot of unfamiliar terminology.  There are also concepts that you have to keep in mind as you learn the material (for instance, do you actually understand how your lungs work?  how gas is exchanged?  what initiates a breath?  how/why we breath in and out?)  We say we know these things but then when someone asks you to explain, you look like this:
